How to Connect Echo Dot to Wi-Fi

There are a few steps you can take to set up your Echo to work over Wi-Fi. To start, you need to hold down the Action button on your Echo for 30 seconds. It will then begin to pulse, alternating between blue and orange. This will allow your device to enter a setup mode. Follow these steps to set up your Echo. Then, follow the steps outlined below to make it work over Wi-Fi.

To use a different Wi-Fi network, you need to download the Alexa app. Select the device in the list and press the Action button until the light turns orange. Then, choose the Wi-Fi network and enter your captive portal password. Then, your Echo should automatically connect to the new Wi-Fi network. You can also use a mobile hotspot if you’re on a limited data plan.

Next, install the Alexa app on your mobile device. You will need an Amazon account in order to use this feature. Make sure to sign in to your account, if you don’t have one already. If you don’t have an account, you can create one by clicking on the Create New Amazon Account button in the login screen. The app will walk you through the process of setting up your new account. You can even add new devices and services through the Alexa app.

Once you’ve done that, you need to enter the correct password. The password is hidden and easy to mistype. Make sure your CAPS LOCK key is not engaged if you have to type it. You must also make sure that you have wifi access because the Alexa app relies on wifi for its setup. However, if you do not have this connection, you won’t be able to set up your Echo.
